Peugeot HX1 Concept Car Revealed
Posted on , by Nick Preston
Peugeot has recently revealed the first pictures of a striking new concept car called the HX1.
The HX1 is due to be unveiled at next month’s Frankfurt Motor Show, the futuristic HX1 is a six-seater MPV with an amazing set of doors that open upwards and outwards.
Underneath it’s modern exterior lies an extremely efficient drivetrain with a plug-in hybrid setup, which means you can charge it up from the mains but there’s also a diesel engine in the front.
Peugeot’s 2.2-litre HDi engine drives the front wheels, while the electric motor takes care of the rears, so it’s four-wheel drive. The HX1 is capable of travelling for just over 18 miles on electricity alone, emits only 83g/km of CO2 and returns an astonishing 88.2mpg.
This is no ordinary hybrid though, as the engine and electric motor produce 299bhp between them.
Unfortunately it won’t reach production, but various bits of technology and styling cues could well make their way onto Peugeots of the future.
