Sebastian Vettel To Race For Ferrari?
Posted on , by Nick Preston
Speculations have been flying around that Sebastian Vettel is set to change teams from Red Bull to Ferrari in 2014. Ferrari chief Stefano Domenicali soon fanned the flames of previous speculation last week, stating that Vettel and Fernando Alonso would work well together. Today, SpeedTV have reported that F1 journalist Giorgio Terruzzi, speaking on Italian TV channel Italia1, says we’ll get to see for real–in 2014.
This rumored Vettel-Ferrari deal could see the two-time driver’s champion joining the team for a three-year deal, running through the 2016 season. However, Terruzzi claims that before this happens Mark Webber could take Felipe Massa’s seat at Ferrari as early as next season, although he’d only be there for a year if that were to happen and then Vettel should follow.
Obviously, this proposed leak of a deal should be taken with a pinch of salt, considering contractual obligations between Vettel and the Red Bull team remain in effect. At worst, it’s yet more paddock gossip, weaved from hearsay.
But, it would be unsurprising for Vettel to move to Ferrari at some point in the future, as the young German has already expressed his interest in the team whilst simultaneously affirming his commitment to Red Bull for the promotion of his incredible career.
