In recent years we’ve seen the Spyker F1, Bugatti Veyron and the Lamborghini Reventon all racing against various figter aircraft.

The net result in all cases is that the supercar is much quicker off the line, and quicker down the majority of the airport runway. However, as the fighter jet builds speed and gains lift the supercar really doesn’t stand a chance.

Despite the obvious outcome, Danish auto magazine Bil Magasinet still opted for this race between a Lamborghini Aventador and an F16 figther aircraft, held at the Aalborg Air Base. The Aventador easily held its own down most of the runway despite the wet conditions, but the supercar’s 700 horsepower lost out to the fighter aircraft’s 28,600 pounds of thrust.

The Danish website stated that the race was a draw, but that’s clearly based on their own perspective. It does however prove that in a short race the Aventador is a supreme machine; in a long race, its only a matter of time before an F16 is right up your trumpet. It just depends on how much runway is offered for the drag race to determine who’s fastest.
