People are quick to point out Ken Block’s driving failures in World Rally Competition, where hardcore fans struggle to take him seriously.
But, one thing you can’t deny is that Ken Block is a marketing god. As chief brand officer of DC Shoes, it’s down to Block to sell as many shoes, hoodies and ball caps as possible, and he does this perfectly with promotion via his very popular Gymkhana videos.
Block’s Gymkhana videos pull in very impressive viewing figures via YouTube, with four Gymkhana videos already under his belt. Block is now working hard on producing number five, scheduled for release on July 9th.
As was the case with all previous Gymkhaa videos, each must outdo its predecessor with bigger stunts, crazier backdrops and a higher risk factor. Gymkhana Five sees Block on a barge in the middle of San Francisco Bay, performing donuts for the amusement of daily commuters on the Bay Bridge.
We’ll have to wait until July 9th to see the rest of the video. You can guarantee that Gymkhana 5 will pull in the impressive viewing figures from previous videos and Block will sell a barge-load of DC-branded schizzle.
