The car pictured above is a rendering that was leaked online yesterday and is said to mark the return of the Alpine brand which is tribute to the 50th anniversary of the legendary Alpine Renault A110 Berlinetta.

French website Motor Sport reported that the Alpine Renault A110-50 Concept is based on the Renault Megane Trophy, and packs an impressive 400bhp V6 engine inside its tube-framed chassis. The bodywork is said to be “inspired” by the Renault DeZir concept which on display at the 2010 Paris Motor Show.

If this concept car does see production, it will most likely be built for the European market, although we won’t rule out sales in the Chinese markt, either. It’s unlikely that Renault would launch a premium sports car brand in the United States.
