AMS Nissan GT-R Top Speed Record 233mph While Drifting!

Posted on , by

After smashing the GT-R 1/4 mile record at the TX2K12 with an 8.62@173.81mph pass this AMS Performance Nissan GT-R attempted the Texas Mile with the hope of breaking the mile pass top speed record.

There was two runs in this video, on the Friday the car was running 1050 whp, and managed to break the record by hitting 121mph. But on the Saturday they ran 1250whp and managed to do 233mph… But on this run just as the parachute ejected the rear wheels went off the ground and the car lost control at 233mph, somehow the driver managed to regain control. Apparently the car is capable of running 1600whp, but by the looks of things it would take balls of steel to use it!

The car is absolutely outstanding and the driver was incredible with his reactions in this high pressure situation.
