Range Rover Evoque Convertible Leaked Pictures

The new Land Rover Range Rover Evoque Convertible was set to be officially unveiled at the International 2012 Geneva Auto Show next month but pictures were leaked yesterday.

This Range Rover will be the first ever premium convertible SUV on the planet and is based on the 2012 Evoque which was introduced this year. This convertible required extra reinforcing due to the lack of a solid roof, thus increasing it’s weight by 165lbs compared to it’s non-convertible counterpart.
The Evoque Convertible will feature the same power as the standard model, a 2.2-litre turbodiesel engine with 240bhp.

The winner of the “Car of the Year” award will be announced at the Geneva International Motor Show this year, we doubt this will be nominated.
Will other car manufacturers follow Land Rover and come out with their own versions of their convertible SUV’s?
I really hope not, it looks ridiculous.
